FAQ

What is a Public Adjuster?

A Public Adjuster is an insurance claims adjuster who advocates for the policy holder in appraising and negotiating an insurance claim. A Public Adjuster is the only type of claims adjuster that can legally represent the rights of an insured during an insurance claim process.

When should I call Adjustment Specialists Adjusting Services?

You should call us directly after you have incurred a loss. It is most favorable for everyone when we are involved at the beginning of the claim proclamation so we can set the tone for the entire process.

What’s the difference between a Public Adjuster and an Insurance Company Adjuster?

The claims adjuster and/or insurance company adjuster are both employed by the insurance company and can’t defend both your interest and the interest of their boss simultaneously. The insurance company adjuster will often offer to settle a claim for whatever amount they see fit, which is often not in favor of the policyholder.

A Public Adjuster is a professional insurance adjuster specialist who works solely for you the policyholder. We are experts in reading the fine print and making sense of the legal jargon so you can plainly understand your policy, coverage and the insurance companies responsibilities in order to negotiate a better settlement.

How does a Public Adjuster prepare a claim?

Public Adjusters are expert negotiators, who will use the services of appraisers, engineers, trades and all sorts of other experts as needed. Public Adjuster will methodically go through all the evidence and record everything for you to get the most out of your settlement.

If the claim has been closed by the Insurance Company is it too late to hire a public adjuster?

No, it’s not too late.

Florida law allows a few years to file a supplemental claim from the date of loss. If you feel you were not paid the right amount, and would like us to review your claim, please contact us. We will meticulously audit and analyze your claim and give you our professional opinion.

If my claim was denied, am I allowed to get a second opinion?

Absolutely! Several of our clients that were told their claim was denied. We simply reopen the claim, negotiate with your insurance company, and insist they pay for practicable damages.

Will I get a larger settlement if I hire a Public Adjuster?

More than likely, you will collect a higher settlement from the Insurance Company than if you did not use a Public Adjuster. We know precisely how the claims process works and pay close attention to policy coverage often resulting in a more favorable payment.

By and large, the more detailed and complete your claim, the greater the settlement. We meticulously review all the evidence, step by step, inspecting the loss site and truthfully record the damage.

Will my insurance company cancel my policy if I hire a public adjuster?

Never. It would be a very serious violation for any Insurance Company to discriminate against you in any way for exercising a right given to you by the State of Florida.

How do I know if I need your services?

A consultation is FREE and without obligation. Please feel free to call us and set-up an appointment to discuss your claim. We promise that if we can not recover additional money for your claim you won’t owe us a cent.

What is the cost for hiring a public adjuster?

The standard fee for public adjusting services is a small percentage of the amount recovered from the Insurance Company. These fees are regulated by the Florida Department of Financial Services.
